Welcome to the home of our fabulous Semester Project! The question we are attempting to answer is, "What does literature say about us as human beings?" And this is the place where we are gathering our thoughts to answer this question. On this blog, we will discuss the themes that can be found in all of the literature we have read so far, and other stuff pertaining to the project. Four people, one project: it's gonna be amazing!

Okay, I've never heard this song, but it came up when I searched "Forbidden love" on google. I don't know what the song sounds like, but the lyrics look like they could fit Romeo and Juliet's relationship.

Aung San Suu Kyi is a good example for challenging the government for 1984. She led a political party in Burma that got the majority of the votes for an election there, but the opposing party didn't like that and arrested them (I think). That would be a good example.
Also we could talk about the French Resistance Movement in WWII (for challenging the government).

We could also have quotes for each of the subtopics; that might be cool. Like for the business one we could have maybe quotes from people who work at Google or something like that.
For the government part of this project, there's a song by U2 called "Sunday Bloody Sunday" (you've probably heard it) that fits perfectly.

So, since I'm in charge of challenging the system in the business place, I was thinking that for my main current day example the Google office. It is a completely creative workplace. Anyone have other ideas for business examples?
Here's an example of modern day Forbidden love. http://www.familysecuritymatters.org/index.php?id=1087008
Also, I worked on my powerpoint this weekend, but I don't have it saved on my USB yet.
That's a good example Katherine! And I'm done with my PowerPoint but can't get the music to work...
